Notes for 3/3 Meeting
With Women's Caucus:
problems/issues in the community
-inevitable self-implosion of many meetings
---what are we supposed to learn?
---entitlement issues: when people do get used to each other, and begin to feel entitled to attention
---how to discuss/resolve issues
-trainings: to make ourselves aware of our and each others' needs. a de-socialization process.
-how to truly collaborate?
-in other movements, when there's a common cause, personal&indiv. take back seat.
---MLK 4-step purification
---principles before personalities: but because we have so many issues, we get behind indiv. beliefs
-prioritizing some actions and issues to focus people's attention
-rules vs. consent to agreements
-splits within working groups? how to make WGs safe?
-moving towards a model of co-creation away from the tokenized "soliciting input" thing
-community has to be organic, it was easier to do this when we were living in Dewey
-co-creation is organic!
-mediators at every meeting? people who can be moderators of conversation if a mtg gets heated
---to preserve the group is the most important thing
-agreements are also about preserving the community
-what safe means to different people?
